At Letteer Dog Training, our mission is to help keep dogs and their guardians together. We provide effective, humane training for dogs at risk of being surrendered to shelters due to behavioral challenges, as well as for shelter dogs who need a little extra help to become more adoptable. We believe every dog deserves a loving home and the chance to thrive. When our schedule allows, we’re also happy to welcome students for basic obedience lessons.

We partner with many local shelters and rescue organizations to help dogs in need gain the skills and confidence to thrive in a home. Many of these dogs are currently looking for adopters—and we'd love to help you find the right match.

Our Approach
We are committed to treating each dog and their guardian with empathy, understanding, and kindness. Recognizing that behavioral issues can be challenging for both the dog and their guardian, we adopt a patient and compassionate approach that builds trust. We use force-free, science-backed techniques that are rooted in positive reinforcement. We help to identify effective solutions for dogs with undesired behaviors. Instead of focusing on punishing or suppressing those undesired behaviors, we redirect and train dogs to engage in more desirable behaviors.
We set out to understand each dog’s unique needs and provide guardians the necessary tools and knowledge to maintain their dog’s progress. We work to establish clear communication, trust, and a strong bond. By creating a positive and supportive learning environment, we empower dogs to make positive choices and showcase their true potential.
We stay up-to-date with advancements in the field of animal behavior and continually refine our approach to ensure the best results. With patience, compassion and a deep love for dogs, we are dedicated to helping them thrive in their homes.
